    Several firms have shown interest to buy SriLankan Airlines, says CEO

    SriLankan Airlines is in a race to restore flight frequencies and increase the number of aircraft in service by replacing the ones that are going off-lease by mid-next year.

    The airline has placed a request for proposal to lease five Airbus A330 aircraft and five A320 jets to grow its fleet size to 27 by mid-2024.

    Any update on restoring frequencies and new A330s?

        Yes UL have plans to restore frequencies to all its network from November 2023. I will update the details here soon.

        I believe SriLankan Airlines Fleet is going to have below fleet in mid-2024.

        A320CEO = 5 fleet
        A320NEO = 2 fleet
        A321NEO = 4 fleet
        A332CEO = 5 fleet
        A333CEO = 7 fleet
        A350 = 4 fleet (according to simpleflying, UL is going to take 4 A350) . I think these are going to be leased from Sichuan Airlines if i am not mistaken)

        TOTAL = 27 fleet size

          I don't think UL will lease A350s, they had clear intentions to lease A339Neo's instead.

                I feel the target market would be mostly onward traffic to South East Asia

                KUL should remain on the cards for FitsAir….Bangkok (DMK) would be a good market to venture in to, not forgetting AirAsia’s strength in the region

                Sustaining the above routes may prove to be challenging
