Kenya Airways 886 from Nairobi to Bangkok always flies over Sri Lanka. Also most Hajj flights from Indonesia to Jeddah fly through Sri Lankan airspace. I have also seen Etihad and Emirates flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Australia over SL on flightradar24.

In case of emergencies you can land at any airport; if the airport is capable of handling that type of aircraft...Indian restriction is for schedule flights

Jetstar to start LCC service from Sri Lanka ???????????? or just Rumour?????????

3K has been trying to expand out of their home market.

Would not be a surprise if they did manage to grab CMB !! They can feed KUL traffic in .. + more than a fair percentage of their travellers are Australians - and it will give a nice boost to tourists.

JQ/3K is on a merged reservation system, so Pax from JQ can book through all the way into 3Ks Asian Network !!

yes that's a good question. even it doesn't have sufficient storage for schld flights. Government only want to waste a load of money, not to take advantages of them.

They are the flights coming from AKL-SYD-DXB, or either AKL-MEL-DXB... even when we flew to DXB from AKL and back we flew over LK.

Its a good temptation to HTT as well. A380s' can land in HTT in emergency situations.

Could VIE able to handle A380 ? I mean do they have sufficient runway and airbridges to support A380 ?
