If i'm not mistaken, I think they are opening a new UPS facility in Colombo 03 as well and are definitely cashing in on the huge potential for Cargo in the region- Aaqib Hussain

Since Fitsair is recruiting A320/A330 pilots , are they looking to dry-leasse A320 and A330 ?

FitsAir to lease 2 A320s
According to CH-Aviation, FitsAir from Sri Lanka is planning to add two leased A320s, which are expected to arrive around March. One will be deployed as a make-shift freighter, while the other one will carry passengers.
Currently, the airline's fleet consists of a single ATR72-600, two Cessna 152s and two Cessna 208s. It also wet-leases an A321 from Avion Express, which it uses on cargo-flights to mainly Dubai. However, this lease is due to end shortly.
FitsAir was established in 1997 as Expo Aviation and had an interesting fleet over the years. It launched operations with two Antonov An-8s, which were later replaced by two An-12s. In 2001 it added the An-26 and Ilyushin Il-18 to the fleet and was renamed ExpoAir. In 2002 three Fokker F27s joined the fleet and in 2006 a DC-8-63F, while the first F-27 left the fleet. In 2012 the first Cessna Caravan was added, and in 2013 the company was rebranded to FitsAir and a year later a single MD-82SF was added.
In 2018 the airline reorganized, which saw the phase-out of their DC-8 and MD-82 and the introduction of their single ATR72.

I believe that they'd utilize the new A320 on medium haul routes... targeting South East Asia, Maldives and India... Flights to MLE, BKK,KUL,SIN and CGK via. HRI would also be a good move
I hope someone can let me know when Pax Ops would begin as I hope to be on their Inaugural flight- Aaqib Hussain

The Current Covid-19 Situation in Sri Lanka
All flights of SriLankan airlines are currently grounded and are yet to become operational – Though this is expected to change in the coming days/weeks. SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka grounded its fleet in March 2020. The airline is yet to start back any operations.
Whilst SriLankan airlines have been grounded, a new startup, FlyLankan, received Government approval to begin operations.

There are planned efforts to sabotage SriLankan Airlines' attempts to purchase two cargo craft, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns.
It is reported that a prominent company engaged in air freight services is behind this conspiracy, and also gets insider support from some employees at SriLankan cargo.
The conspiracy stems from the fact that this company is planning to import one A320 and two A330s at competitive prices in the future, targeting freight services.
SriLankan Airlines says that this company had previously gotten together with officials of SriLankan cargo to deviate freight contracts towards them on the sly.
