Thanks ever so much Haleef and Jerome for sharing the picture with us. Nice shot !

Really sad the A350 didn't get water salute on its first inaugural flight to CMB. What time A7-AMB landed at CMB ? What's the gate number? I'm wondering why there is no aircraft in the background ? normally 12 to 3 midnight is a peak hours at CMB.

This is at gate Bravo 14. It had arrived at 0250hrs. Pity no water salute, but since it is a previously-operated flight, and only aircraft change, I think that's why no water salute.

yes, we need plenty of pictures! no chance to see LATAM directly operating from South America to Sri Lanka.

Hi LoveUL4ever, Any reason why QR selected these LATAM aircraft to fly Colombo ? any possibility QR operating Colombo with A350 that in QR-livery? i can see A7-AMB is flying again to Colombo.

So far there’s no talk about operating a QR own A350 to Colombo. I think the reason to operate this LATAM aircrafts is the capacity. The capacity in QR A350 is less than the LATAM aircraft. However this LATAM aircraft operating to Colombo will be replaced by A320 again in the mid of September or October.

                              • Qatar is now also sending to CMB their own A359 as well since the last few days, and even today its scheduled as another Qatar A359 to fly to CMB from DOH. I've been noticing this for sometime now, even they send off a Boeing 777 twice or sometimes once a week as well on QR662. I hope Qatar will also send the A359 as replacement for the A346 on QR664/665 and QR654/655 once it retires from their fleet.
