They are already here, will be out of the Ports by today or tomorrow. Both the M11 locomotive and S13 sets arrived yesterday.
So I presume they will enter service soon? Any knowledge when and what lines they will be running on? Also hoping to see some videos and pictures of them

The power sets I assume would be deployed on long distance services as they have come in such a formation. Perhaps I think it will be even practical to replace trains like Yal Devi and udaya Devi trains with them, only once it confronts an elephant we can discover the underlying quality of it.
As for the M11 there is no existing train service that could make such a locomotive break sweat in SLR. It is a locomotive for some serious heavy duty work and only goods and oil trains would be the only practical use for such a engine. It is too heavy and long for any use in the hills.

That makes sense, I did see somewhere that they planned on increasing rail freight.

Which locos are currently hauling yaldevi and udhayadevi?

Both the turns are operated from the ELS Maradana.
Yal Devi is usually operated by a M10,M10A, if not rarely M8. compartments are Chinese consists of 11 coaches.
Udaya Devi is operated by either a M4 or M8.compartments are Chinese consists of 7-8 coaches
The power of the engine as I heard is 3300HP not 4500HP. It is power by a GM EMD corresponding 710 V12 engine model. Wonder if this locomotive is shorter than the Indian counter part due to the shorter engine block. Anyway let's hope everything goes smoothly and this locomotive would be a successful logistics work horse.
When will the S13 start operations? It looks quite odd really, it has got a aerodynamic front of a modern metro train coupled to a bottom which looks like a cow catcher of a steam locomotive. Hilarious really.

M11 is in colors similar to Indian Railways. Will it get paintwork in Sri Lanka?
