It also shows Sydney and Melbourne as new destinations. Also Rome and Milan are gone. Is this what UL's future route map will actually look like?

According to this route map, NRT is operated via MLE, and DME is operated directly instead of flying via DXB.

      • Above Route Map must have been created in January 2012 when UL planned for S12 network changes like : nonstop flights to DME and PVG and cancellation of Italy (Source). However these plans were altered in the middle of February 2012. This route map shows UL is interested in providing a nonstop flight to HKG enroute ICN and resume flights to SYD & MEL.

According to this site ZRH,LHR and CDG are regional Routes.

What is the meaning of that?

Are you sure FD will reduce frequency on it's BKK-CMB from Daily to Three weekly ? Air Asia Website shows there are no changes on this route.

Updated in Air Asia Website too..

Reduced frequency for Bangkok – Colombo flights

From June 14th 2012 we are reducing frequency of flights between Bangkok and Colombo, due to realignment of our business plan. The revised schedule will only operate flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. There is no change to the scheduled time of these remaining flights.

Effective 17 December 2012 UL will increase CMB-DXB-DME from two to four weekly using an A320.

Thai AirAsia will reduce flights to Colombo from 14 June to shift capacity to routes that have higher traffic demand. Thai AirAsia CEO, Tassapon Bijleveld said: “We aim to add more flights to our popular routes that have high demand.” Currently, there are three airlines serving the Bangkok – Colombo route offering nonstop services – Thai Airways International (thrice weekly), Sri Lankan Airlines (twice daily / thrice daily from this July 12) and Cathay Pacific Airways (thrice weekly).

                          • Heads to roll in high-flying body

Serious financial problems may see the replacement of the boss and his team in a State enterprise known for its high flying life styles.

Insiders say that changes, despite the strong affiliations of those concerned, have become inevitable to avert a collapse of the enterprise.

Is this about one of the airlines (or another state enterprise)?

                            • What I heard is that everybody is disgusted about the fancy jet-setting life style of the CEO (of both MJ and UL)..He has busted a tremendous amount of funds for instance ...when he checks into 7 star hotels around the world and generally gobble up whatever reserves are available (on his lavish lifestyle)...while the airlines are scraping the bottom of the barrel! The Union guyz are also up in arms.. those who love the airline/s are helpless as he has (or shows he has) direct links to TT. But ultimately he may survive..who knows? This is the land of arscharya!!

                              • It is at times funny, and a shame to see how this forum has turned into a playground of baseless rumours.
I do not wish to divulge into details, but there's one thing that I can tell you, and it is that both UL and MJ are in much better shape than being imagined here. And you're hearing that from a long-time critic of both airlines.
