    • Hey guys, this is totally wrong info. At the moment im standing right under the 4R-ADB aircraft in the UL hangar. And this aircraft is suffering with a minor damage due to an overloading of a supporting jack. Airbus industry has already sent us a repair scheme and UL engineering is capable of doing the repair. Hopefully the bird will be able to fly next month.

      • Yeah same what I heard. That a jack has popped out and there was considerable damage to the aircraft fuselage but not taht sever for the aircraft to be written off. Also is the aircraft currently undergoing a C check..?

        • Gayan/Dilanr: I am not a LAME, but i was watching a repair for a Rear Pressure Bulkhead on an MD11. It was not simple and it was pretty painful and a lot of work involved ..

I am not so sure how it goes, but, the understanding was, if the pressure bulkhead was broken and structurally unstable, the repair is NOT recommended ..

Then again, if Airbus SAS says repair is possible, then I guess it is repairable.

Since the planes are on lease, would the insurer consider a write off ?

              • @ Kenkari - Is UL not sell/lease its slots at LHR ?

LBO reported that UL had raised USD $175 Mn though an Islamic loan from UAE. Mashreq Bank lead managed the loan, with four other UAE based banks chipping in, which will give four year financing for UL to the equivalent of USD $175 Mn.

this is so true. He is taking our best aircrafts and roaming around the world. We faces cancellations delays and financial problems. If we had a fleet of 50,60 aircrafts its ok but we have only limited number of acs with a tight shedule. All the shedule get ruins when one plane get dissapears. :@
