British Airways resume services to Sri Lanka
Gerard Victoria - Director/ General Manager Hayleys Aviation.
Victoria said that British Airways will resume services to Sri Lanka on April 15, and operate three flights a week from Gatwick via Male on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays with a Boeing B777-200 aircraft.
In the long term, the airline is looking at operating flights Gatwick-Colombo direct if the operation is viable " he noted.
Passengers are looking at comfort, especially on long haul flights and British Airways operates a brand new fleet covering an extensive route network, he said adding that from a Sri Lankan passengers point of view it gives him or her more options.
British Airways is a member of the One World Alliance, and the airline is looking at code sharing with Sri Lankan Airlines and have a close working relationship Victoria said.
It will be a three class configuration and the Boieng 777 will offer its world renowned Clun World Business Class with flat beds, a Premium Economy and World Traveller plus Economy class cabins.
Air Global (Pvt) Ltd a fully owned subsidiary of Hayleys Group of Companies are the General Sales Agent for British Airlways in Sri Lanka.

BTW, Mihin's website's tag line is Cheap flights to Dhaka, Colombo and Jakarta with "FREE MEALS AND BAGGAGE .. "
Then again, I can't figure out how they price SIN-CMB-SIN, at 2048 S$ - virtually more than twice UL's fare .. are they on a mission to discourage traffic ex-Singapore, to cover up the cargo space ?

Turkish Airlines to Launch Sri Lanka Service from Feb 2013
Turkish Airlines is planning to begin direct flights to Sri Lankan Capital, Colombo from 1st February 2013. There are plans to extend existing five weekly Istanbul - Male service to Colombo onboard A330-200. From 31 March 2013, Turkish Airlines will be operating on four weekly onboard A343.
