Still no announcement on TK website and on the Media. Anyway @4R-SRD - Do you find TK's CMB fares are attractive ? @Spookyflyer & Uthum - Any idea about the cabin configuration for TK's A330/A340 ? Do they have first class operating for CMB flight ?

Is GF not making profit out of CMB route ? GF is doing a several network reduction they also cancelled Erbil in Iraq. Any idea what is a reason GF making losses and which makes them finding difficult to compete with EK/EY/QR ?

This will hurt at least some passengers in North America. For some reason Gulf/BA has a better pricing to CMB with 2 pcs baggage allowance.

GF is planning to restructure their routes, and CMB maybe one of those which will fall into 'partner' programs..

GF is the twin brother of UL.

                  Run by political appointees.

Gulf Air Trade Union (GATU) spokesman Mohammed Mahdi said he was surprised by the decision, given the destinations affected had good passenger traffic. "They could reduce the number of flights, but direct cancellation is not the way out,"

If I am not mistaken GF does not operate their metals to North America.

Good passenger traffic doesn't mean that the airline is making a profit. I would assume CMB is not milking a profit for GF as this route being used by the low premium traffic. These days, all of the leisure and business passengers are preferred to fly on GF's rivals QR, EY, EK and WY. In this situation, CMB-BAH route should be served by their premium value carrier Bahrain Air while GF focus on destinations with high yield.

I doubt TK's inclusion to CMB will get affect RJ since RJ operates nonstop to CMB but TK has a long flight due to their stopover in MLE which is so inconvienient for the passenger fly from North America/Europe and other connections. However TK has cleverly planned the IST and CMB departure timings as red-eye flights. @Kflyer - Does TK has local rights on MLE-CMB ?

TK (Europe's best airline) still have not been opened the CMB flight booking. 21 days left for the launch date. All the best for the CMB flights sale.

                        • TK has local rights on MLE-CMB. Flights are open for sale on GDS if I'm not mistaken.

GF's partner carrier takes pax from North America to Europe and GF carries them from Europe to CMB air ticket prices are extreamly low but long layovers

Yes booking is not ready yet on TK website but certainly we can book it from amadeus.net. TK is planning to use 4 x weekly 270 seater A343 to MLE/CMB in Summer 2013 . @Kflyer & Speedbird - Is there even a demand for this route ?

                              • Point to point demand between IST and CMB does not seem to warrant it. However they can stimulate demand by stealing connecting traffic from USA/Europe with lower fares.
