Not 3. 4 Aircraft is out of service. 4R-ABP is under scheduled maintenance in AUH for past few weeks.

Why did they send ABQ for schedule maintenance when already ABP is out of service for end of lease checks?

I think UL should wet lease 1 or two aircraft to bring the flight operation back to normal.

Hope this aircraft issue sorted soon!

4R-ANE seems to be a brand air craft even recently Hkg cmb they wanted to landed in Bangkok due to technical error then they continued the journey to colombo.
        Is it still under maintenance?

Guys, does anyone have an idea why the continuation of the diverted UL504 again had a stopover of approx. 1 hour at KWI enroute from FRA to CMB? Both flights operated with callsign ALK504D

                • Brand new CFM-LEAP 1A engine for SriLankan Airbus A321neo (Probably A321neo - believed to be 4R-ANE) has arrived, and also a new flap for the left wing of an A330 of SriLankan has also arrived. Both arrived in two Antonov AN-12 aircraft, one from Johannesburg and the other from France.

Do not upload pictures on any other site.

Thanks ever so much for the pictures of the engine and parts delivery. Good to see AN12 at CMB after long time. AN12 have become rare visitor at CMB since ExpoAir sold to FitsAir. I remember saw that blue AN12 at CMB in 2010. Beautiful bird. I am wondering why does some of the delivery done from Johannesburg. Does South Africa supply Airbus parts ?

Yes i think the engine is for ANE. As per this link, it appears to be ANE hasn't received ETOPS.

ANE operated like below when operating HKG flight yesterday :

No problem! Recently another AN-12BK came to Mattala with an aircraft engine (not sure why), but it landed at Mattala, probably for refuelling and left. Yes Air Armenia used to send their AN-12 aircraft here, but now they are becoming rare visitors at CMB. Not sure why from JHB, but it might have stopped over there for refuelling I guess?

Yes it's for ANE, but even other 320 and 321 neos still fly beside the Indian border and then fly the route to HKG, CAN, BKK etc. I heard that they got ETOPS, but wonder why they still don't fly over sea.

                      • Exclusive Interview With SriLankan’s Saminda Perera, General Manager of marketing.

SriLankan Airlines might be not on everyone’s radar, but there is good reason why it should. It could even be the one secret airline that you might of heard of that you really should try. Wit…

No major airline can survive with short haul air roots!!! Thats why sri lankan had plans for long haul roots form newzealand and australia via CMB to european, middle east destinations and beyond..... but current government and management killed that opportunity and now facing bankrupcy!!!😡😡😡

The current management has successfully transformed a National Carrier with great potential to become a force to recon with in the South Asian market to a Flying Circus!

This is why nobody seems to be interested in partnering with UL. Sadly they still think that Akbar will invest, but just know that he has Plans to Invest in India not SriLanka

The leading Gulf carrier has been exploring investment opportunities here. Last December, the airline said it would like to add more flights to India.

My guess is that there was a crew duty hours issue.

                              Crew change in KWI.
