    ANA To Ground All Boeing 787 Dreamliners After Latest Glitch

    All Nippon Airways will ground its entire fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners after one of their planes made an emergency landing in Japan on Wednesday local time.
    Wednesday’s incident involved reports of smoke in the cabin aboard a flight from Yamaguchi-Ube Airport to Tokyo-Haneda. The plane made an emergency landing at Takamatsu Airport and all 137 passengers evacuated by emergency slides, but none were injured according to NHK.

        @Kflyer - So UIA is going to be the single national carrier for Ukraine. I would think Ukraine is better focus on one airline due to higher operational costs etc.. . What is your thought ?

        According to Skyliners following Aerosvit aircraft will be re-registered to UIA.

          Not sure Cebu Pacific (5J) going for dry lease or wet lease. But Reportedly 5J has signed firm order for factory-fresh Eight A333s which will begin the operation from October 2013/2014. CIT Aerospace is going to be a Lessor for four of those A333s however Lessor for remaining four A333s are still unknown. LCC, 5J will make use of maximum seating capacity on the A333s which are likely to be configured as 436Y to serve the high density routes like Dubai starting on 7-Oct-2013. It's a first time I heard of 436Y configured A333. Hopefully leg-room won't be an issue for these aircraft because A333 could handle maximum seating capacity of 440Y.

            Hi Banu... yes Fiji is like a Tourist Destination (Tropical Island) in Pacific Ocean.. Similar to Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean. Lot of NZers, Ausis, travel to Fiji as quick summer getaway. I think Air Pacific AKA Fiji Airways use 2 flights a day between AKL & Nadi. They used the 747s before between Fiji & US via AKL. However, i havent seen their 747s in AKL for ages. Mainly their 737s.

              yah, but if they do high density, they will never break into the North American Market - the North American market is minting money for PR because of the luggage allowance - even a one tech-stop in Guam makes it worth while for people to travel PR vs others ..

              And if you have seen the size of the Balikbayan boxes- you will be amazed .. right to the maximum weight limit.

              Same goes for Mid-east - a lot of Filipino traffic is always returning with large and large boxes - if their is a weight penalty, it will make the route not worth while ..

                err .. like Sri Lanka ? no, I guess not .. Fijian Tourism board has done wonders, so much so, a lot of European / American Charters do deliver loads of tourists to Fiji ..

                Fiji is one of the top dive destinations, and the Fijian people are quite organised in that area despite their domestic squabbles ..

                          As you said this Dubai route doesn't worth if their is a weight penaly, that's why Cebu Pacific has brought up a prepaid-baggage allowance of upto 35kg. But they have to do cheaper rates to DXB in-order to compete with Emirates, which is quite established in MNL by offering three flights per day onboard B777s. Also Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Etihad, Gulf air, Kuwaiti, Qatari and Saudia are the other airlines that provide better connections for passengers to/from MNL.

                          If they are entering North American Market, they may configure some aircraft with less seats to carry more cargo like PAL. Wondering why less US flights are operating between North America and the Philippines when filipinos are being the 2nd largest asian population (3.4Mm) in USA. I am quite sure Filipinos in EU and US are quite wealthy not like the ones in the Gulf. So Filipios from US are afford to fly on VFR, Holiday...

                              As loaded in Amadeus, Qantas will operate 7pw on SYD-DXB-LHR and another 7pw MEL-DXB-LHR, both flights will be operated by Super jumbos in Summer 2013. So Kangaroo route is becoming as Falcan route effec 31 Mar 2013. I heard Qantas is also looking to revamp the network to Singapore and Hong Kong. It's not very clear yet whether Singapore and Hong Kong services are going to be expanded or reduced. Do you know if Qantas currently operate to DXB ? What aircraft do they use ?
