Jetstar Japan (GK) booking is available on Amadeus I tried with NRT-KIX route.. It seems to be Jetstar Japan serving two daily flights each way on NRT-KIX with a perfect schedule for office workers who fly from Tokyo to Osaka. Wonder why they don't fly morning flight from KIX to NRT.. Please advice

      GK101 NRT 06:25 KIX 07:50 1h 25m non-stop - Daily
      GK106 KIX 18:40 NRT 20:00 1h 20m non-stop - Daily

      GK103 NRT 07:25 KIX 08:50 1h 25m non-stop - Daiy
      GK108 KIX 20:05 NRT 21:25 1h 20m non-stop - Daiy

I personally backing the third runway project! As per 2011, LHR is standing as 12th Busiest airports in the World for Aircraft Movements. Therefore 2 active runways are not sufficient to cater the growing aircraft movements. LHR faces so many aircraft delays due to the reason also not enough landing slots available. If you compare LHR with other European Airports, AMS is operating on a 6 runways, CDG operating on a 4 runways, MAD operating on a 4 runways and FRA operating on a 4 runways. LHR need to expand so third runway is seriously needed now.

I clearly understand London Mayor Boris Johnson has dropped the plan of building brandnew airport in "Boris Island".

What do you think guys? Do you like the idea of third runway for LHR? or does London need a brand new airport.

Yes, LHR does need a 3rd runway, but it will not happen for years to come, there is too much opposition for it, with a UK General Election due in 2015, no politician will back it for fear of losing votes.
Boris Island airport does make some sense in a way, but in other ways doesn't make sense, it would be too far away from the centre of London for airlines liking.
Boris is now in favour of another similar 4 runway hub in north Kent area, but again too far from centre of London, he is also "suggesting" that the current LHR be closed down ! when a new hub is built, yeah i know Boris is losing the plot a bit.
It will eventually be LHR, but sadly not for years to come, then probably too late..

Plane was parked at a remote spot, having arrived in LHR at 6.30 am Friday..

Worth noting the 787 that caught fire was in fact the first one back in service after the battery problems !, a little ironic i think.

Hi Dave, Ethiopian B787 ET-AOP was moved to the remote-spot next to Terminal 4 after parked in BA Engineering Ramp for last few days.. See the above picture I took it today morning , you clearly see the burn at the rear fuselage. Any idea when will the aircraft will fly back to Addis Ababa?

                • Hi again Banuthev, no i don't know anymore than you do about this aircraft, it is obviously not airworthy as it is, so will stay put until repairs are done, presumably waiting for insurance go ahead for this ?

Great shot Banuthev. This was bad luck for Ethiopian, as they have invested so much in these aircraft for the future of their long haul fleet. They use it on all sorts of routes, anything from short hops to neighboring countries, high demand routes to Dubai, Rome and Milan, and their longest route to Washington Dulles. If there are anymore groundings, they will have to rely on their 777-200LRs to take care of these routes. Hope to see this beauty back up and running soon. I was lucky enough to see this bird one early morning driving near Dulles, couldn't get a picture of it though sadly cause I was at the wheel. As Dilushasg-bdavi said, the Dreamliner is really starting to turn into Boeing's nightmare...

                      • Saw this on another forum ... disclaimer: not my words ..

About 1 month ago all of the major travel web sites on the internet removed all Iranian airports as bookable destinations putting Iran firmly in the category of Cuba. I actually reached out to several of the major web sites, including the PR Relations contact at KAYAK, and received no answer whatsoever. The web sites I counted include all the major ones which are mostly US based companies including.

www.Kayak.com - No error message. Just removed everything.
                        www.Orbitz.com - " Sorry, we cannot find a match."
www.Expedia.com - "We could not find any airports that match your search for 'tehran'."

Though it hasn't been confirmed, this action is probably encouraged at least tacitly by David Cohen (Under Secretary) at the Treasury Sanctions Office (OFAC) probably using some sanctions rule.

US law does not actually restrict anyone wishing to visit Iran including the 1 million emigres in the US.

www.Travelocity.com - still allows booking IKA. As do some European sites. The major airlines flying into Iran at present are:

British Airways to use A380 to Johannesburg. Training Flights on A380 will be operated between Heathrow and Frankfurt. They also have plans to fly A380s to Los Angeles and Miami for revenue services. Any idea how many A380s BA planning to get?

Currently, I think British Airways has orders for 11 more Airbus A380s. These routes seem to make sense, although I would have expected Hong Kong to be included under these routes. I hope in the future they consider Washington Dulles as an A380 destination. Their gate at Dulles is immediately next to Air France's gate, who also operate A380s daily to IAD. It would be awesome to see those two beauties lined up next to each other.
