      • Sri Lankan Airlines A340 model at Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg

A picture of the A340 Sri Lankan Airlines is to admire Wunderland Hamburg in miniature. © Miniature WonderlandAn A340 Sri Lankan Airlines takes off and lands every day 20 times in the Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg . The aircraft model is the latest addition to the Knuffingen Airport - one of the eight areas of tourist attraction.

A plane model of the Sri Lankan Airlines takes off and lands now 20 times per day in the Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg. The tourist attraction in Hamburg every year attracts over 1.5 million visitors and a total of eight areas. One of them is Knuffingen Airport, where the aircraft model has the Sri Lankan Airlines produced in 1:100 scale found its place. The A340 is equipped with original paint and lighting, and runs daily self-employed immediately from the airport to the gate. There he is pushed back by a pushback vehicle and rolls to start and runway. There, the model plane takes off and lands thereafter. "It is wonderful and exciting, even now in this small but unique of its kind in the world to be represented airport," says Maria Schleder, Sales Manager Germany of Sri Lankan Airlines.

Sri Lankan Airlines currently operates six "real" A340 and also has in its all-Airbus fleet also on machines of the type A320 and A330. Sri Lankan was founded in 1979 and is the national carrier of Sri Lanka. The Airlines sets new standards in service and comfort, many of which bear witness Awards: 'World's Friendliest Cabin Staff by Skytrax and Best Airline in South Asia from Travel Trade Gazette 'are just two of them. Sri Lankan Airlines is expected to join in the coming year of the Oneworld alliance.

I am also curious to know the rego.. It's my dream to build a miniature airport like this at Home but got only two diecast models (1:500)- SriLankan Airlines A340-300 (4R-ADD) and Emirates B777-300 (A6-EMM). Looking to get some more collection of SriLankan A320s and SriLankan A332s but they are rare in the diecast market??

Wow thats great! I have a large collection of model planes. Some 1:500 and some 1:200. I have 1:200 Sri Lankan A340-300 (4R-ADA), A330-200, and Air Lanka A320 that I bought aboard a flight many years ago. It's really nice to see a UL model here at the largest miniature airport

As far as I know this B772 is VP-CAL which is operate by Aviation Link Co who provides services for VIP customers in the Middle East. I remember I saw VP-CAL is London Heathrow some time ago but that time it was in all-white colour.
