According to the following source Pope will fly Rome-Colombo on AZ A330-200 and Colombo-Manila on UL A340-300.
I think it will be a charter flight to MNL but i am curious know who is paying for the flight tickets for Pope and journalists when they fly to MNL onboard UL.According to the release, the pope would be leaving Rome today for Colombo in Sri Lanka, covering a distance of 7,630 kilometers (4,741 miles). The travel time would be about nine hours and 30 minutes on board an Alitalia A330 airline.
On Thursday, the Pope would be leaving Colombo for Manila on a Sri Lankan A340 aircraft. Travel time would last for about six hours and 15 minutes.
Some Filipino journalists covering the visit of Pope Francis in the Philippines this week may have to learn some Italian.

Protocol says, UL should fly him to Manila, and the PR will fly him where-ever
Unless due to the change of Administration, somebody didn't want to annoy anybody and did a Plan B !
Of course, PR will be more than happy to fly him all over the world, considering the amount of Media coverage they will reap out of it ..Comment
