Bringing tourists to HRI may be because, they are kept in beach hotels & resorts for quarantine. The major beach hotels are in southern & eastern coasts of Sri Lanka. So, it's easy accessible and it may reduce contacts with locals than CMB airport I think.

Hi Savin, I wonder if its going back to LHR as empty flight or going to fly via MLE ? Is it possible BA parked in HRI until 27-Jan-2021.

England is playing two test series in Galle

1st Test on the - 14 to 18 Jan 2021
2nd Test on the - 22 to 26 Jan 2021.

Are any other airlines apart from SkyUp and UIA scheduled to bring in Tourists to SL?
I also heard that there will be repatriation flights operating to SriLanka with one flight scheduled for tomorrow.... does anyone have any info regarding this ?

The Airbus A321-231 (c / n 3636) EC-NLJ from Privilege Style is closer to its incorporation.

The aircraft will bear the name "Cte Eliseo Borrás" and was sent on November 10 from Colombo to Woensdrecht, via Doha, still as SriLankan Airlines (flight UL1205 and registration 4R-ABR). The set-up for the transfer to the Spanish company, painting included, has begun there, in charge of his lessor Avolon.

I can see skyup scheduled to arrive at HRI on the Jan 6 , Jan 10.

I can't see other flights. does anyone have information of the charter flights due to arrive at HRI in coming weeks/months?

I am quite surprised why BA used B787-9 to carry 40 passengers (players & supprt staff) to HRI. Any reason why smaller B787-8 not used instead of B787-9.

According to planespotters.net, out of 12 787-8s only 7 are in service while 17 out of 18 -9s are in service. Im sure it’s much more cheaper to use a -9 instead of reactivating a stored -8 in case all their in service -8s are busy.
