It's good to know that you have someone works at MJ. Could you be able to find out about MJ's third aircraft and their next new destinations ?

well, seriously, if there are enough STOL runways, I see no reason for seaplanes in Sri Lanka, other than for novelty factor.

Knowing the load factors (a friend flew to Weligama - he was the sole pax, on departure, 2 pax got out, and on arrival, he was met by 2 pax - makes sense to kill it off I guess

or put back the wheels and fly the Twotter in it's natural land based guise ..
As per http://www.dailynews.lk/2012/05/31/fea02.asp - SriLankan plans to do away with the water-only float planes which it currently operates as air taxis and to replace them with fully amphibious aircraft. This will enable them to take off and land from both water bodies and from conventional runways.

Lot of confusing news coming out on AirTaxi operation specifically with opening of the Dandugam Oya lading site. On paper, the contract between UL and KB ends in August and no renewal signed as of yet. KB will try to get business back with UL or any other operator in Sri Lanka.

Tiger Airways is giving the false statement in the news saying that they are the first LCC to fly the Singapore-Colombo. I hope you guys are still remember Mihin Lanka flew LCC flights to Singapore few years back.

UL will have do many things to attract passengers, such as having Korean speaking flight attenders on board and serving better food.

Thomson Airways is not a danish airline, so that can't be true...
