    Haleef & Aaqib,

Did FitsAir return the MD82SF to lessor due to new collaboration between LH & UL ? Before UL use FitsAir's MD82SF for the dedicated cargo routes. Looks like UL doesn't have deal with Fitsair anymore. please confirm if FitsAir will return to cargo business again?

And of course rent out the newer A330-300 s to some cheep airline again gives the most commission..... We are so unfortunate to see such a beautiful national treasure go because of a mad corrupt government like this!!!
The problem is that the GOSL won't let this Airline go under - and this threatens to drag the entire country under.

The IMF will force a shutdown - gives the GOSL a way out of this mess - they can blame everything on the IMF.

The only way forward imho is to start from zero with a new Airline that is 100% privately owned with no Sri Lankans in any management positions.
Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find this business

                      * Sri Lanka national carrier to be revitalized with action plans proposed by Nyras Aviation Consultants

May 16, Colombo: Sri Lanka's national carrier, SriLankan Airlines has begun a number of effective initiatives for the development of the airline, taking into account the responses given by the airline's section heads on the 10 proposals submitted by the world renowned Nyras Aviation Consultants, SriLankan Airlines Chairman Ranjith Fernando said.

Accordingly, actions are being taken to make changes in some flight routes in order to prevent massive losses the airline is incurring, the Chairman said.

He added that discussions have been initiated with the relevant companies to obtain concessions on the monthly leasing charges of billions of rupees for certain aircrafts.

He said that discussions are being held with banks and leasing institutions to obtain relief for high interest rates on loans obtained by the SriLankan Airlines.

The Chairman said following extensive discussions with the section heads on the ten proposals, special measures have been taken to uplift the airline.

According to Digitalairliner website, 4R-ANF is in full colours and its been parked outside the Hangar 245 on the 15th May. Any idea if the engines have been mounted on 4R-ANF ? Looking forward to see more pictures. :-)

This is why EK (or anyone else with a right mind) will never touch UL again!

In an interview with Business Insider, Emirates Airline president Sir Tim Clark has revealed the lessons learnt from buying into Sri Lanka’s national airline – its only foray into equity ownership – and why they refrain from making anymore equity investments in other airlines
