People are leaving/migrating by air or by sea and that's a fact. getting assaulted by uniformed custom officers inside an international airport is not a high mark and CMB is known for baggage pilferage/damage or getting conned by a tuk tuk driver/tout. fair enough if you love your country so much you should think about returning for the betterment of your country spread canadian values like UN blue caps, i.e. peacekeepers, charter rights and individual freedoms or you could stay here and enjoy the Canadian values
Enough is enough. This is a forum about Air travel and not a place for mudslinging campaign to tarnish Srilankan image. Honestly You should not be a member here.

The country (it's people and first res-ponders) are doing its best to rebuild and get life back to normal and infact it already has done quite an exceptional job to contain the situation though the fact that we have political pawns like you is what makes life a living nightmare.
With all due respect migration is the commoners goal to a greener life.
Mind you escalating threats from radical groups are bred by governments globally particularly the west!! Canada is no safe haven..
It amuses me of how you think it's morally right to belittle/tarnish Sri Lanka when you and I know it's just so that you could let your hate foster.
No doubt you may have been at disadvantage with the kind of constitution we have in our country (I mean who hasn't) but it doesn't give you the right to trash SriLanka.
You may be OK with migrating and mooching off of someone elses fame but how dare you give us the ethics lesson.
It's appalling to say the least that many consider voicing ones grievances as a form of free speech and to take it as a social norm to channel ones anger through recommendations based on individual conclusions BUT that's exactly what's wrong with this world!!
Its an absolute waste of energy to put an effort to get folks like you to lead by example hence its best to say what you desire which "AS PER YOUR LOGIC IF COLOMBO IS A DUMP" - SO IS THE WOMAN WHO BIRTHED YOU!!
mind you any country may fall in to a situ like last #Eastersunday attack.. no where a safe heaven.. we as SL ciritzen are strong enough to take up anything on our way..
lets unite my buddies and bring back the country on track ..
We must rebuild together as a nation and remain resilient
i guess enough on this debate... lets stick to thread "Sri Lanka Aviation" yahhh

Another Corrupt Deal in the making....
May 24, 2019 (LBO) - During the ten year period when the management of SriLankan Airlines was under Emirates, the airline enjoyed a decade of profits. This is in stark contrast to the period of 2009-2017, when SriLankan Airlines was under state management, and accumulated losses of Rs. 148,707
Never heard of Advocata - see no names are mentioned either. Looks like a company set up to give legitimacy to this deal.
When we see which Politicians are backing this deal then we'll know who is getting a "Commission" on this deal.
For those who don't understand what is going on - profits will be siphoned off from the profitable divisions which are going to be privatised. This means increased losses for the Sri Lankan taxpayer.
One more thing - "Letters of Comfort" is just a euphemism for an unsecured loan. Sri Lankan taxpayers will be eating these as well.Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find this business

and it's still in MCT
Aircraft won't be painted in Oman Air livery. Three crew members (Captain, First Officer and Purser [female because WY crew consists of female Flight Attendants only]) from SriLankan Airlines also operating along with WY crew.
ALM's First flight today with Oman Air from MCT - CGK is already on its way.
