If all is well 100% prepared it will take 2 - 3 weeks but 4 to 5 weeks is not unusual if there are any troubles, which are non un-usual, are coming up when the old cabin has been removed. There might be some extra work in the galleys if they are needed to be replaced as well as there might be additional parts required which are not on hand -e.g.caused by corrosion which is not unusual with planes based at desert airports yiu will detect only after galley removal. It is equipment related not airworthiness related.
ADS-B will be mandatory (I think from 2015). No ADS-B installed in the 3 older A340
Older TCAS versions no longer allowed. These aircraft also have an older version of TCAS installed.
Any restrictions will be related to one or both of these issues - retrofitting is expensive.Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find this businessComment

coz i overheard that our 1st 3 birds are banned from the air space... as they are not air worthy as per the standards in Europe!
