      I hope they select 777-200ERs to replace the A340-300s. The older A330s can be replaced by newer ones if they are in a rush, or better still with 787s but these will take another 6 years, given Boeing's order book...

                      SriLankan plans to add five more aircraft to its national aviation service within next five months, Minister of Civil and Aviation Priyankara Jayaratne has said.

                      Participating in a programme at the state-run radio Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, the Minister has revealed plans to purchase Three Airbus A320 aircraft and two more for long distance flights.

                      Two of the planes will be added to the service at the end of this year and other three will be obtained by March 2012.

                            Thanks for the info, did UL state this or something? If so any idea as to whether they are new builds or used aircraft?
