4R-ADA/B/C originally delivered to Air Lanka in 1994/1995, but these birds joined in the SriLankan Airlines fleet in 1999.

Madurai flights delay maybe due to the competition between several cities….

Ahmedabad also wants Sri Lankan flights……

Earlier Sri Lankan said it is planning to launch flights to Ahmedabad, as well as restarting services to Calicut and Goa.

EK announced this week that it is studying foreign acquisitions.

Based on the information on the fleet watch thread it appears that UL are re-fitting their newer A343s. Looks like they are not retiring them and waiting out for A350. It would have been beneficial for them to retire the entire fleet of A343s and acquire A333s for the interim as they are shrinking their foot print in Europe (which consisted of the few flights that required longer legs) and A333s would have ben a great choice for their Asian destinations.

Sri Lanka Seychelles direct air links soon

Tour operators in the Seychelles want to promote joint holiday packages for tourists with Sri Lanka and establish direct air links between the two Indian Ocean islands.

Any Idea Why 9W is cancelling the DEL-CMB route?

Secondly Why 9W's BOM-CMB Flight Timings has not been changed after they cancel the DEL-CMB route ? Effective 17th May, 9W from Mumbai is arriving in Colombo at 04:40 and departing from Colombo at 20:20. Does this mean 9W is starting a new route from Colombo ? Is Jet Airways interested in connecting IXM-CMB route ?

Sri Lankan Airlines should seek private sector investment in ground handling, aircraft leasing, aviation engineering, air catering, and tour operations.

It should restructure itself by seeking joint venture with private sector to maintain it's subsidiaries it will benefit its core business as a passenger airline.

Mihin Lanka should manage regional flights to secondary cities for short-haul destinations as the regional wing of Sri Lankan Airlines.

Need a major marketing overhaul to promote its present name and logo as a new corporate identity.

First it needs to expand its services in South Asia, It needs to establish it as a budget carrier in South Asia.
