Very good picture ! Thanks a lot for sharing the picture with us. It looks like she spent more time in the hangar as Engines were delivered very recently if iam not mistaken. When does Airbus is planning to give her engine-run?

A330 airbus deal sends SriLankan Airlines into a tailspin

this is what happens when you cut long haul routes...without finding out why the yield is low

That's a small part of the problem.

It starts with a Culture of Impunity and Zero Accountability. It's (almost) impossible to fire anybody and since there are no consequences people just do whatever they want.

Since it is impossible to fire anyone incompetent people rise to the top of the organisation. Combine this with Political appointees and it's a complete clusterf*ck!

Everyone is just there to collect maximum salary and benefits.

In addition there are a group who have sold their integrity, honour and family name to the Politicians in return for positions within the Airline. These people allow the Racketeering to continue and are protected by their Patrons. When the Government changes these people just sell their services to the next Patron.

I'm one of the (many) victims of this system - I've seen it firsthand.

It's all there in the Weliamuna Comission Report.

The current "Management" couldn't manage their way out of a paper bag - you can quote me on that!

All they're good for is Big Talk imho.

              The results speak for themselves!

Anyone who is knowledgeable and has marketable skills will be unable to function in such a system. They will leave - and that's exactly what has happened. There's been a mass exodus of staff to the ME carriers - they are of course delighted to receive a large number of talented people.

The sad truth is that there is no way to turn this around - the Airline is riddled with corruption and incompetence from top to bottom.

Members, I want to know which airport was used for the independance day celebrations as we all know VCBI is currently resurfacing it's runway. So fighter jets like kafir's and military transport airplanes like the C-130 Would have not been able to use VCBI at that time(8:30am - 4:30pm). So in that case what was the airport used??? (Apart from MRIA Since it's not feasible)
Or are these SLAF planes capable of operating at short runways like RML.

K8 jets used the Ratmalana airport for their stopovers and takeoffs, and also their formation breakoffs. The PT-6 and Cessna 150 aircraft used the Katukurunda Airport. Bell 212, 412, Mi-17, MA-60, C-130 and AN-32B used the Ratmalana airport. But mostly the C130 and the AN32 did not come to Ratmalana, so probably they stopped over at Mattala or another airport downsouth, and so goes on for the F7 and the Kfir. But I can assure you nothing took off during the morning hours at Colombo airport, but most of the jets and other heavy aircraft left to Colombo back in the evening after 1645hrs and so on..

Amazing shots Tobi ! Sincere thanks for posting them on our forum ! I'm still starving to see more pictures from you.

4R-ANA is a beauty with winglets. Please advise where she is being taken today? Does she have the cabins fitted?

She is beauty ! This is a best livery in any A320neo ! Can she be able to fly 6 hours nonstop without payload penalty? SriLankan has to use her on the routes where is a good demand for biz traffic.

Is that white tail A350 behind one of what UL did not take?
