i hope this will be 2nd busiest air port in SL in time to come. As somebody said the next place should be to have IA is Trincomalee and we need some good plans to make Trinco is San Francisco of SL.Comment

It is worth for Srilankan Airlines to consider operating to India from Jaffna and Batticaloa Airports using smaller aircraft like Dash 8 Q series which can accomodate less than 100 seats. Also improving domestic air travel will ultimately strengthen tourism too. This is very good sign as far SL Aviation is concerned... the ROI of this upgrade is already started coming compare to same in another location which is still struggling to struck a deal.

Exactly
SriLankan better start more direct flights between Colombo and Jaffna.
Currently AI is planning daily flights between Chennai and Jaffna. Unfortunately SriLankan will loose passengers to Air India because passengers to Jaffna from cities would fly via Chennai instead of Colombo.
