Emirates, SriLankan Airlines ink reciprocal interline partnership
Emirates and SriLankan Airlines have inked a reciprocal interline agreement aimed at enhancing connectivity for passengers of both carriers.
The partnership facilitates access to new destinations on each airline's network via Colombo and Dubai, with the convenience of using a single ticket and seamless baggage transfers.
The interline agreement offers Emirates passengers access to 15 regional destinations operated by SriLankan Airlines via Colombo, including new Indian destinations like Madurai and Tiruchirapally, along with Gan Island in the Maldives.
In return, SriLankan Airlines customers gain access to Emirates' global network, connecting to 15 cities operated by Emirates beyond Dubai, spanning the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and the US.

Sri Lanka’s national carrier in urgent push for new pilots

SriLankan Airlines is aiming to recruit 80 new pilots to replace lost headcount, with 30 hires set for this year and 50 more by mid-2025.
CEO Richard Nuttal said failure to fill the manpower gap would result in cancelled flights.
The state-owned flag carrier has lost about 50 to 60 pilots within the past 10 to 12 months.
Currently, there are 143 captains, including three females; 83 first officers; 26 junior first officers; and 14 cadet pilots undergoing training within the organisation.
Nuttal told the media that the airline has obtained government approval to recruit foreign pilots if required, and pointed to “a pool of skilled pilots available in South-east Asia and Northern Europe”.
When asked if hiring conditions have been improved for pilots, Nuttal told TTG Asia that terms have indeed been enhanced for both future hires and existing ones.

Hi Guys, , Today morning i surprisingly saw a SriLankan Airlines A333 parked at LHR for some reason. It seems UL504 from Heathrow to Colombo cancelled last night.
I am wondering what is the aircraft reg and reason for AOG.
