You are welcome. ADE is due to land at cmb on the 2nd at 0235. Um sure the flight radar might give you its latest movement from Jeddah to colombo.

Only anecdotal info but I flew EK650/651 DXB-CMB-DXB back in Jan, flight almost full both ways. EK650 was FJY 77W, EK651 was a JY 77W. Surprised to count 6 people in the F suites.

If anyone has some more up-to-date hard info please share.

According to Wikipedia's Bandaranaike International Airport page, LOT Polish Airlines is set to begin seasonal charter service to BIA from Warsaw Chopin, commencing on November 6. Can anyone confirm this? I have not been able to find the flight information on this date on any flight tracking software. Also, according to Flight Track, Turkish is not operating to CMB via MLE anymore as of December. Is this when the nonstop service from IST is set to begin? I heard they planned to do it around the Christmas season.

as discussed this previously in here, LOT will begin seasonal flights 2x weekly with 787, thts rite first ever 787 service to CMB , source for this was airlineroute.net and Turkish is flying non stop to CMB from that day as in Dece i think coz Turkish is highly contended with servicing CMB, coz these days i'm in CMB and Turkish is fully fledged in ops at CMB, u shud see their GSA's in CMB, its top notch. and plus UL's going thru a major overhaul and the change is highly overwhelming coz i was briefly involved with their RM (revenue management and pricing division) for an on the job training.

I did EK650/651 on August 8/17. 650 was a brand new 77W with ice digital wide screen. It actually had a pillar after row 5 in J. The other 2 class 77have a galley and then the final row of J. Given there was no galley and an extra row the cabin seemed far mor spacious. Was full in J, assuming so in Y.

651 was was full in F, one seat wasn't working so 7 pax and was also full in J. Assuming Y was full as well.

I have another 650/651 next month and its showing full on 650 but not on 651.

I flew this route regularly last year, almost always J was full or at least 80%. Have been upgraded to F four times in a year on the route.

This is charter service where LOT 787 will be used by Rainbow Tours. (the link below is in Polish)

Wycieczki objazdowe z R.pl - Sierociniec dla sÅ‚oni • rafting na rzece Kelani • safari w Parku Narodowym Yala i Minneriya • skalna forteca Sigiriya • plantacja i fabryka herbaty • wodospad Ravana • ubezpieczenie pakiet sport w cenie

Anyway, this is a very good news to have 787 in CMB.

That's really good to hear. Nice to see these airlines bringing top notch service into CMB. From what you have seen, how have the passenger loads been on the TK flights arriving to CMB? I am curious as to who is coming on these flights, whether it's Turkish tourists, or Sri Lankan expats connecting from Europe or North America. I know that this route will be very good for me, as a Sri Lankan living in the states. A short stopover in Istanbul, and it will be directly onward to CMB, and will provide good competition to QR, EY and EK, who are all the top choice for Sri Lankans traveling back to SL from the eastern United States.

I have been on two separate flights that EK operates from DXB-CMB. I flew EK 348 and EK 651. EK 348 continues on to Singapore, so it was about half full of passengers bound for CMB, and the other half stayed onboard and continued to Singapore. 651 is strictly between CMB and DXB. Business class appeared to be about half full, but economy, where I was seated, was completely filled up. No empty seats to speak of. A majority of the passengers were Sri Lankans, although there were a few European tourists aboard who were connecting thru DXB on their way to holidays in SL.

I flew 650 from DXB-CMB in Jan, very few Sri Lankans! The majority of the passengers were European tourists.

Either way good to hear loads are good. I have 650/651 booked in January again... Emirates offers the best connections from the UK.

Wow! Thanks Serendib for sharing the video! Glad SriLankan Airlines wants to expand the network particularly in Asia, Because they reported European destinations are not making money for SriLankan flights. So they need to increase more flights to profitable destinations like Japan, China, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia etc.. Any latest news about SriLankan Airlines flights to Seychelles and Nairobi? It looks like SriLankan Airlines still awaiting approval for freedom rights between Seychelles and Nairobi.
