It appears to be AC paving the way to continue utlising the ageing B767s which are going to be replaced by the B787 fleet in 2014. Part of its cost-cutting process , these B767s could be re-configured and transfered to the AC's new LCC department.
A military source in Ottawa says the United Arab Emirates closed its airspace Monday to Canadian Defence Minister Peter MacKay and Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Walt Natynczyk in an escalating diplomatic row over aviation rights.
LCC will be a subsidiary not a department with different contracts (Pilot/Ground Crew etc...) AC is a Quebec based heavily unionized company. This is one way breaking monopolized contracts. Unions went on strike but current Canadian govt legislated them back to work.

How does the new contract compare to Jetstar and Scoot ?

Hi readers,
Maldivian (Q2) has announced three new international destinations with the leasing of their first A320.
The new destinations are: Dhaka, Mumbai and Chennai. Maldivian already flies to Trivandrum.
The new routes are scheduled to start in mid-November. For more info on this, do check out this newsrelease by the airline.
Also, there is a photo gallery of pictures of the aircraft (8Q-IAN) on Facebook. Check it out here.
