yea i read it but how possible even they were foreign they must have radio , radar , and common control plane which shows the destination unless if the plane was a prehistoric one lolComment

A lot of planes in South East Asia are flying with bar minimum, i.e the essentials .. especially the smaller planes ..
I was in a Twotter and the pilot pulled up his own garmin handheld GPS and stuck it to the windshield, as the company cannot afford to buy the proper kit .. considering the cost of the conversion kit ..
I was in a Islander, in Philippines, where the pilot was basically following the terrain closely, as there is not STC'd GPS for the plane and the company wasn't going to buy any .. and he only can find the airport by visually flying looking for landmarks ..
So was it in a Piper Comanche in Philippines ..
Radar ? what radar ? many islands in Indonesia and Philippines have no radar coverage ..

Rumour that you heard could be true. Tiger and Scoot need much more space at SIN for their growing network. Also It does make sense both of these airlines (TR & TZ) operate at the same terminal after their recent join collaboration. I Doubt AirAsia Group and Jet* would move to Terminal 4 from Terminal 1 where their getting a faster flight connections with other cities.
Any Idea how many aircraft parkings were at the previous Budget Terminal ? and how many more aircraft parking will be added to new Terminal 4 ?Comment

BT had 10 bays, if I am not wrong ..
Of course, the remote parking at T1 is just a hop and a trot away ..
For the carriers operating out of BT, Tiger, Sea Air (Tiger in Disguise .. ) Cebu Pacific, Firefly and Berjaya Air - that number of bays were more than sufficient I guess .. especially when Berjaya and Firefly were operating ATRsLast edited by ecureilx; 18-10-2012, 08:43 AM.Comment

Yes TZ has third freedom rights on TPE-NRT-TPE.
TZ has plans to launch service to Shenyang and Qingdao from 27 Nov 2012. It is interesting to see that this service will operate as SIN-SHE-TAO-SIN with a method of Round-Robin-Route. In the fact that Round-Robin-Routes are extincting due to Higher fuel prices and Double landing charges. Wondering why TZ is attempting on onestop service to Japan and China. Any Idea how TZ's business is performing ? I believe they are still holding four of the ex-SQ B772s in the fleet. Do they have plans for fleet expansion and acquiring a young fleet ?

Shenyang has been promoted as a tourist destination, in South East Asia, in fact, many a conference are being held there .. and Qindao has a historic connection to many a Chinese migrant .. and TZ is going all guns blazing to cash in on that I guess ..
The SQ 772s don't technically belong to SQ - they belong to BOC Aviation .. so, any airtime they use up is much better than idle time on the ground .. and apart from a few off-loaded to BI .. and some were going to BG - the rest are / were parked in Changi .. they are derated versions, billing a lower landing fee ..Comment

Hi Banu: NZ used to fly to SIN until they had a codeshare with SQ. However, they have fully stopped flying to SIN now. As far as I am aware NZ never flew to KUL. They are flying to BKKat the moment.
Bali flights were planned to start last Jun with 767-300ERs.

As part of the deal, Airbus will take back five of SIA's long-haul A340-500s, which will be removed from service by the fourth quarter of 2013.
This will result in the cancellation of non-stop flights between Singapore and Los Angeles, as well as the Singapore-Newark route.
And Scoot
Scoot chief executive Campbell Wilson said the more fuel-efficient Boeing Dreamliners, which will replace four of the carrier's Boeing 777-200s, "will help keep ticket prices low".

Great news! Twenty B787-10Xs are replacing four B777-200s for Scoot from 2014, Twenty A350-900s are replacing Nineteen A330-300 for SQ from 2017 + SQ is ordering five more A380s.Interesting news ..
