40 years since the first major air accident in Sri Lanka. Martinair DC 8 hit seven virgins mountain near Maskeliya killing all 191 people on board.
What really happened to Martinair MP-138 that plunged into the Seven Virgins Mountain Range in Maskeliya 40 years ago killing all 191 on board? Donald Rosa, the
Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka is a statutory board under the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation, which supports and develops Sri Lanka's air hub and aviation sector.
Who in this forum can remember this date? ( I am sure many of you were not even born)

Its very weird that media people in Sri Lanka does not recognize this aircraft. This is home built aircraft named as Lihiniya by Ray Wijewardana. No idea how this in ended up with CSN inventory.

By looking at the history of HS 748. Lion Air's 4R-LPV joined the South Africa based firm in 2004. Air Ceylon's 4R-ACJ was damaged in 1978. Ex-Aero Lanka's 4R-SER now stored in SLAF museum.
