Wow Thanks for the pic! AOM Minerve used to operate twise weekly IW923/924 flights on ORY-CMB-SYD-NOU onboard DC10. AOM used to operate Colombo for quite a long time some thing like 1992 until 2001. After AOM ceased the operations in 2001, SriLankan took delivery of ex-AOM A343s 4R-ADE and ADF in 2003.

40 years since the first major air accident in Sri Lanka. Martinair DC 8 hit seven virgins mountain near Maskeliya killing all 191 people on board.
What really happened to Martinair MP-138 that plunged into the Seven Virgins Mountain Range in Maskeliya 40 years ago killing all 191 on board? Donald Rosa, the
Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka is a statutory board under the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation, which supports and develops Sri Lanka's air hub and aviation sector.

Its very weird that media people in Sri Lanka does not recognize this aircraft. This is home built aircraft named as Lihiniya by Ray Wijewardana. No idea how this in ended up with CSN inventory.

How many of these HS 748s were operated by SLAF / Sri Lanka Aviation in the past ? By looking at the history of HS 748. Lion Air's 4R-LPV joined the South Africa based firm in 2004. Air Ceylon's 4R-ACJ was damaged in 1978. Ex-Aero Lanka's 4R-SER now stored in SLAF museum.Comment

4R-SER was not stored in the museum, it was sold to another airline long back. I'll post a photo of it after it had been painted at Ratmalana. How many of these HS 748s were operated by SLAF / Sri Lanka Aviation in the past ?
