Fantastic link
. This brings back my earliest flight memories on Air Lanka that I took from Katunayake to Heathrow. Flew many of those aboard 4R-ADA.

Good article it only affirms that GOSL is not capable of running the airline...
Another new chairman/managing director, Dunstan Jayawardena, is named and he receives a mandate from President Ranasingho Premadasa to make the airline succeed or shut it downComment

the last pic... Is it Royal UK airforce? or SLComment

Yes, It looks like Royal UK Airforce! Did RAF operate the passenger service out of Colombo in the past? I am bit curious as passengers are walking towards the RAF aircraft.
Here is another picture of LTU at Colombo Airport. I think this picture was taken before the phase 1 project.

Sri Lanka Aviation service completes 101 years.
Today is the International Civil Aviation Day. Sri Lanka's Civil Aviation completes 101 years of existence. Minister Priyankara Jayaratne issuing a message in this connection says that Sri Lanka is in a position to be satisfied of its achievements in this sector. ...You are dead wrong
AF took over UTA and Air Inter in the early 90's operated schedule 744 to Colombo
Balkan used to fly Tu154s to CMB and onwards to SIN
East German Interflug flew to CMB from Berlin in the late 80's
Does anyone know about the Swissair schedule to CMB
I remember the Swissair schedule up until the time it ended in 1987. It was a twice weekly DC10 service.
Once weekly ZRH-KHI-CMB-SIN-JKT, and once weekly ZRH-GVA-KHI-CMB-SIN.
I don't recall Interflug ever flying to Sri Lanka. Did Sri Lanka have an air services agreement with East Germany?
Air France took over UAT around 1993. However AOM took over Air France around 1996.Comment
