Is it true or is it a fake?
Quite unlikely. Wikipedia is hardly credible when it comes to things like this. I can always edit it to tell that UL will take delivery of 6 A380s. Plus, Boeing's official O&D shows no new 777 orders this week, although this could always be announced later. Never say never.

      • So SriLankan must be currently short on aircraft as 4R-ABH left the fleet and 4R-ADC is at the C-Check from 19-Sep until mid of October 2011. I think 4R-ABG or J also leaving the UL fleet in Nov-Dec 2011 after completing the lease-period. Has anyone got any update on 4R-ABN / O ?

Is Hainan Airlines going to fly Colombo from 18-October-2011 ? Recently, Colombo Flight Schedule is missing on the Hainan Airlines website and Amadeus.

        • Yea i kinda knew that really was never gonna happen so fast.
However, Srilankan Airlines should try buy new or lease planes such that they do not overuse them and can free them up for expansion...

i highly doubt if Hainan is ready to serve colombo.no sign of commencing flights on 18th of next month.but they won't drop out this route as they have already appointed a country manager and they do have even an office in colombo.another thing i noticed is hainan is missing in the colombo airport wikipedia page.(but i don't count on wiki at all)
