Albert Einstein is quoted as saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
I called it correctly! It's all so predictable....

Out of the 3 options the shut down is the only one that is achievable - the longer they wait with doing this the worse things will get.

The other 2 options are a complete fantasy - as soon as anyone does Due Diligence they will see the Billions in forward liabilities that cannot be changed.

China Eastern is going to fly charter flight from Hangzhou to Colombo on the 3 Feb. Does anyone know which aircraft is going to be used? I think the charter is for Chinese new year.

China Eastern operated this segment last week too. They used Airbus 330

Yes, UL is expanding NRT flights from 4 to 5 weekly from 8 - Jul 2019. Good News UL is expanding the frequency on the long-haul flight ! Does this mean 4R-ALS is going to be in service from July ?

              Flight Timetable

              CMB-NRT - 1_3_567 - UL454 - A330 - 19:15 - 07:35+1
              NRT-CMB - 12_4_67 - UL455 - A330 - 11:20 - 17:10

Does anyone here know what would be the 332 replacement at UL?

even though it is not directly related AVIATION per say.. this article argues how SL should promote budget air lines and overall air traffic should be increased in order to achieve 5Mil Tourists by 2021.
i find this is an interesting article...

Doubling of tourist arrivals to five million in three years requires Sri Lanka to take some bold and innovative measures apart from effective marketing of a more organised tourism destination, a top expert opined. ..

I wonder what's the fate of the four A350-900s which are due for delivery to UL next year.

I think they are trying to change the order to some A320neos/A321neos.

Etihad A380 flight EY454 diverted to CMB today early morning while en route to Sydney. Aircraft is still on ground.

Well since they have been unable to cancel or renegotiate this order - they're going to have to come up with U$800 Million to pay the outstanding balance.

The only reasonable conclusion is that this is yet another Corrupt deal without a termination clause designed to pay out the highest possible Commission.

About time this gets investigated imho.

White painted A330-200 (CS-TFZ) 4R-ALS has performed a test flight today around Colombo during noon as ALK009/UL9 (Playback available on FR24). Looks like it is to enter service with UL soon.

Yesterday A321-200 4R-MRD was also performing flight tests from 30,000 - 40,000ft over Galle/Matara area also as UL9.

Or it may be sub-leased like last year. If it has no livery then this would make the most sense.

We will have to wait and see what happens.
