I also see UL207/8 (CMB-AUH-CMB) completely terminated this month and UL codesharing with EY
ul207/8 cancellation might be due to their usage of A320s and A320Ns on other routes w/ higher demand?(they did start a new route to India, didn't they?)
they might restart this route after their 3 parked A21Ns get into service.

          Good day everyone,

C6 or Centrum Air has pushed back TAS-CMB service to the 22nd of DEC, they will be operating to HRI instead of CMB now. Not sure what caused this change.

          Thank you.

Welcoming Air Astana to the Sri Lankan skies with a flair of tradition! 🇰🇿 ✈️ 🇱🇰

Launching Air Astana operations to Sri Lanka for the winter 2024/2025 season, the first flight arrived at #BIAsrilanka this evening, and the flight was welcomed with a celebratory water cannon salute organized by AASL upon arrival at BIA, followed by a traditional Kandyan dance performance organized by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.

Air Astana is now offering four weekly flights between Kazakhstan and Colombo. Here’s to new connections and exciting journeys ahead!

according to UL website, CMB-AUH flights might resume from 29/01/2025.
although banuthev the reason I think might be this, I'm not completely sure.
-G9 and EY also operate this route..

Yes, Currently EY have almost 4 daily and 3L have 5 weekly.

Has anyone flew on UL207/8 before the route cancellation ? Whats your thought on this flight? Since UL cancel the flight to AUH during the peak season makes me wonder if AUH is no longer making profit for UL? Any possibility UL terminating AUH like they did with MCT, BAH, JED?

Yes, have flown it 10-12 times since Covid. Business class almost always only has positioning flight crew and BA Tier Points runners as AUH-CMB-CGK was - until a month or so ago - the cheapest way to earn BA Tier Points (560TPs for $800 rtn in Business). Economy always seemed busy, but margins are slim there and eventually UL accountants must have realised that they weren’t making much of a profit on the pointy end. Cargo could be a revenue winner?

Loved the UL service and food, didn’t mind the old A320s either, seats more comfy than the neos! And the UL deputy station manager at AUH was lovely, always happy to help the constant stream of mad people doing ‘back to backs’ at AUH (i.e. getting off UL207 and straight back on UL208). One guy I met was shuttling AUH-CMB-CGK and back 8 times in a month!

UL reservation are showing UL may return back to AUH from 29-Jan-2025. I really doubt UL will make profit out of AUH route after BA terminate AUH route from Summer 2025.
