4R-ADC was back in operation from the C-Check on 3-Nov-2011. On the sameday 4R-ADE was sent for the Business class refurbishment.
Thai will not reduce because AirAsia is launching the BKK-CMB route. Basically Thai is increasing the seat capacity by replacing A306 with B772 inorder to compete in the route.
It looks like Mihin Lanka is reducing TRZ and MLE for introducing new destination or new flights.Comment

Changes in SriLankan Airlines board. SriLankan Airlines has added two new directors representing the two State banks and filled another vacancy created by business professional Chris Nonis who was recently appointed Sri Lankan High Commissioner in London.
Kapila Chandrasena, the airline’s Director/CEO said Lakshmi Sangakkara, a board director at People’s Bank (PB) and W.A. Nalini, General Manager at the Bank of Ceylon (BoC) have been appointed as new directors on the board.
Mr. Nonis’ vacancy has been filled by Mount Lavinia Hotel Chairman Sanath Ukwatte, who has served previously on the board.
The two banks have a stake in the airline after the Government acquired the shares held by Emirates and requested PB, BoC and the National Savings Bank to fund the sale through a share swap. The BoC has a 20 percent stake and the others around 10 percent or less. The other directors of the airline are Nishantha Wickremasinghe (chairman), Shamindra Rajapaksa, Manilal Fernando, Nihal Jayamanne PC and Kapila Chandrasena (also CEO). http://www.sundaytimes.lk/111106/News/nws_07.htmlComment

The top article is the consipiracy theory often used used to cover our shortcomings. In this case 'diplomatic' sources are blaming the LTTE rump for keeping the SriLankan aircraft detained in Paris. It says that SriLankan engineers who went to Paris to inspect the aircraft did not find any 'significant' fault. Unfortunately they are not mentioning what insignificant faults they found and not defining 'significant'. In the Sri Lankan state sector speak a 'significant' defect could mean one of the engines falling off or a big hole in the fuselage!
The second article is a lame trip report.Comment

SriLankan Airlines is mulling opportunities at flying to two new destinations, Canada and Vietnam and negotiations in this regard will take place next year. The national carrier will once again add Melbourne to their route network from end of this year.
SriLankan Airlines made aviation history by embarking on the longest flight by flying the Commonwealth bid team to St. Kitts from Colombo. The pilots have had to undergo special training to land the flight since the runway in St. Kitts was small. “The aircraft also flew nearly ten hours over the Atlantic ocean,” he said.
