But i heard it had a electrical problem in the cabin when it was operating as UL230 KWI-CMB on 29 Nov 2014 - http://avherald.com/h?article=47e34faa
Yesterday UL 505/506 operated by ADB. Mostly it is operated by 340

SriLankan would have launched the schedule flights to Chengdu, which is one of the big business market in China. How did you find out Air China going to start Chengdu-Colombo on 10 Feb? Any flight information?

Air China, one of the country's leading carriers, is scheduled to start direct service between Chengdu, the capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, and the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo in February, the airline said Wednesday in a statement.

An Airbus A330 will fly the Chengdu-Colombo route each Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. A one-way journey between Chengdu and Colombo will take about five-and-a-half hours, Air China said.

Passenger flow between southwest China and Sri Lanka has grown quickly in recent years amid increasing trade and economic activity. China is now the third-largest trade partner for Sri Lanka, which opened a consulate in Chengdu in late 2009.

Meanwhile, more Chinese tourists are visiting the island country, known as the pearl of the Indian Ocean.

According to statistics from the Sri Lanka Tourism Board, the country had received a total of 106,800 Chinese tourists in the first ten months of this year, up 139 percent year on year.

Before the Chengdu announcement, Sri Lankan Airlines already operated flights to Colombo from four Chinese mainland cities -- Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing.

No one has any interior pics of the new 333? I heard it has the same config as the first new bird?

In this case UL will have two different seat configs for J class and possible Y as well? Can anyone confirm this?

SriLankan Airlines should start service to North America New York JFK and Toronto , using A330-300 via London LHR.

So its confirmed then, all the new aircraft will have different seats to the existing, upgraded ones.

One of the major gripes, especially for premium travellers, is the inconsistency of the hard product. If UL starts advertising just the new J flatbeds and someone gets the 'old' clay coloured ones they will be pretty annoyed.

I guess they will use the 'old' seats for regional routes and the new ones for the long haul ones to east Asia and Europe.

Maybe they will maintain the blue theme for all A333s, while the A332s have the orange theme

On 19th December UL157/158 was operated by an A332 (4R-ALB) instead of the regular A320/A321
