He said the 'T3CAS' system has a significant difference in ALO so probably that might be the cause. ( read more about Thales T3CAS : https://www.thalesgroup.com/en/world...erospace/t3cas )
ADS-B is not essential for FR24 tracking, our old aircrafts are not equipped with that anyway.
    Thanks for the information

Most of our UL aircraft are tracked by fr24, which means they have ADS-B. This problem seems to be only with 4R-ALO. I shall take up the matter with fr24 & see what their response to it is as well.

Is it true that MJ is gonna be shut down. Becz as per the recent articles about their expansion doesn't look like they are going to cease.

Good if MJ shut down. But would you think it's profitable if UL serve full service flights to cgk, dac, shj etc.. MJ already a full service carrier anyway.

Not sure about other destinations, but there is no point in serving SHJ as UL already operates a daily flight to DXB.

                That is a good decision.

                Between DXB and CMB:
FZ has THREE B738 flights a day.
EK currently has 25 weekly flights mostly on B77W, which will soon increase to 28 (4 daily flights!).

                In contrast,
UL has ONE daily flight to DXB mostly on a narrow body.

                Why?

I thought EK already have 27 weekly flights on DXB<->CMB and 7 weekly flights on CMB<->SIN

Ek is currently operating 27 weekly flights from Dxb and Cmb. But there is an issue in increasing the flight to 28 weekly due to runway maintainance going on every Wednesdays afternoon at Cmb so Ek doesn't want schedule the Ek654 on Wednesdays.

Over the few years Uae based air carriers had taken advantage of Cmb route where now Ek is operating 27 weekly from Dxb, FZ is operating 21 weekly from Dxb, Ey is operating double daily from Auh, Rg is operating three weekly from Auh and finally G9 is operating 11 weekly from Shj but G9 has plans to increase Cmb flights from 11 weekly to double daily effect Dec 2015.

UL mix the equipments to DXB I think most of the time UL has less pax loads on Cmb-dxb.

Any chance Ek increasing more flights to Cmb? Is it good for Sri Lanka if Ek expand the service?

Don't forget UL used to fly it's own metals to DAC, CGK, BAH, during the time when UL Ek partnership.

Don't think so. QR has increased the capacity as well.

Thanks for correcting the number of weekly EK flights between DXB and CMB.

UL load factors are low on this sector since they have only one daily flight and that flight has low on-time performance.

EK is the de-facto national carrier of India, so I do not see any reason why it would be different in Sri Lanka.

So China Eastern's service from Shanghai-Pudong to BIA (PVG-CMB) has begun. The flight arrives at CMB at around 19:00 local time, and departs back to PVG around 20:30. The flight is operated by an A332. Does anyone have photos of this bird at CMB? It is nice to see all these Chinese birds coming into CMB. It won't be long to Air China also adds its second service to CMB!

UL had cancelled the plan of increasing frequency to PVG from 4 to 6 weekly after its been confirmed MU to link CMB with PVG. Yes 2nd CA service to begin from end of This month that connecting PEK-CMB. I think UL better launching nonstop flights to new destinations in China and cancel Paris, Frankfurt and Rome. North American traffic should be connected via Japan, China, Qatar and UAE.
