    KLM Colombo resumption

It looks like KLM has slightly adjusted the schedule for the CMB seasonal service from the one originally reported by airlineroute.net.

    Now it shows as follows ;

    effective from 31OCT16 to 24 Mar17 Amsterdam – Colombo 2 weekly
    KL873 AMS 0955 – 0010+1CMB 789 15
    KL874 CMB 0210 – 0835 AMS 789 26

This is much better for the North American connections.

Any possibility that this service becomes year around ?

It left CMB at 7:34 PM and on the way to KUL now. Could be most probably medical!

                Looks good!
Great to see more links opening up to Bangladesh and beyond. They'd probably utilize their 737-800's or else their A310's since they still operate two of them as of today

Rotana Jet is speculated to start 5th Freedom flights on the CMB-HRI route from December this year.

They'd be operating their Airbus A319 for this on the AUH-CMB-HRI-CMB-AUH route
Just confirmed this with a few travel companies too.

If anyone has more information on this please do share

Probably has to do with the Middle East labour market which might be coming predominantly from the areas around HRI.

Would be great to see the good old A310 in CMB before it retires by the end of this year.

PIA signs contract with SriLankan for lease of three A-330s

PIA-Premier-cabin-crew-uniform-unveiled-1Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has formalised the wet leasing of three A-330 aircraft from Srilankan Airlines.

PIA CEO Bernd Hildebrand signed the contract with the Chairman of Sri Lankan Airlines, Ajith Dias and CEO Capt. Suren Ratwatte.

The contract has materialised after a series of negotiations between the two sides. First of these aircraft would he delivered during the next week, while the rest in the following months.

These aircraft are in brand new condition and would be used for PIA Premier Service giving passengers a better experience, allowing PIA to start regaining its market share.

PIA Premier is scheduled to be launched on August 14, initially only to London.

There would be six weekly Premier Service flights to London, including three from Islamabad and three from Lahore. Later, with the addition of more aircraft, the service would be expanded to other destinations.

Chairman, Azam Saigol appreciated the efforts of the PIA team led by Hildebrand in finalising this contract.

I heard that SriLankan is sending 4R-ALN to PIA on the 30th of July. 4R-ALL, ALM and ALN will be leased to PIA, and UL will be getting 2 or 3 A350s since Hainan Airlines has taken on UL.. Some one please confirm if it's true? Has it been confirmed Hainan Airlines to take over UL?
