Guys, could someone check and say whether SG is going to get any Q400s delivered? Any websites to get the list of ordered Aircrafts from Aviation firms?

Also if possible help me tracking that like you did for 4R-ABP using flightradar24.com

As per www.airfleets.net, one Q400 is not in use.

Yes, the news agency Press Trust of India that reported on it did a mistake and since that report will figure in most media in India, it occured everywhere.

You are right. Madurai is going to be the fourth airport in TN that is to be equipped with flights to international destinations.

Good to see SpiceJet is starting a new connection between IXM and CMB. BTW I have plans to visit Madurai in July/August this year with friends from Colombo. Do you think this SpiceJet's Madurai flight will be started by then ? If you can please tell us about the attractions in Madurai on our "Country Branding" thread.

Banuthev, I posted there Please take a look

Regarding IXM to CMB by SG, since they have got traffic rights for a Q400, we are waiting for the official announcement from SG (Member of Parliament for Madurai airport has announced it yesterday in media that traffic rights was granted and our RTI response I posted also confirms it). We hope for them to start soon. I guess you could land straight in Madurai by July or August.

SG is busily deploying one of its Q400 with base in Hyderabad. so, they must be deploying another Q400 for IXM to CMB route (Since IXM don't have night parking facility for aircrafts, we expect it to come from some other location) or restructure their network.

Our dreams are coming true one by one. Let us see.

Any idea on Transit Visa cost (for SG passengers to get onward flight to Gulf) and cost to stay in Airport for say 4 hours?

Guys, if SG wants to operate IXM to CMB, does it need to get approval from SL ministry for aviation or is that not required as it already flies to CMB from MAA?
