That's what happens when you lease your fleet at above market rates - you cannot operate the aircraft profitably.

12 year leases with no termination clause = no way out.

We are talking several Billion Dollars in losses.

SriLankan is launching its first commercial passenger flight to Vizag on 08-July and the resumption of Coimbatore on the 16-July.

4R-ANC did the UL173/4 and today morning UL139/40

The recent action by EASA does not immediately disqualify SriLankan from continuing with maintenance checks. “EASA is working closely with Sri Lankan management to ensure that Sri Lankan maintenance organisation stays in compliance with EASA requirements,” Dominique Fouda, the agency’s head of communications told the Sunday Times

I checked the EASA website. Srilankan is still approved for Part 145 certification.

A320neo will be flying to Bangkok as UL402 in the coming week maybe. I think this will be its' first flight to Bangkok.
