Isn't that already cancelled? Airbus hasn't started working on MSN 171. They skipped it as per 3rd party production list/status updates. What are the other MSN that the UL order had?The deliveries of four A350-900 from Airbus to SriLankan Airlines starts from 2019. I think SriLankan better change the A350 order to A330 and A320 if they think A350 is too expensive for them to operate. it has to be done earliest possible before Airbus start the production of SriLankan's A350.Comment

More aircraft ordered without a termination clause - what a surprise....
Good luck trying to get out of that - legally there is nothing that can be done. Only way out is bankruptcy.
Looks like a propaganda piece.
No specifics - very vague answers.
It's everybody else's fault!
Dances around the EASA 145 issue.
Talks utter bullsh*t!
What a poor excuse for a CEO Suren is!Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find this businessComment

In June SriLankan Airline CEO Suren Ratwatte told Reuters, Airbus had indicated it was willing to change the terms of the order for four A350-900s from SriLankan Airlines to different planes but did not elaborate on the specifics.

I wonder... if the order for four A350s is converted into an order for narrow-bodies, will just four narrow-bodies have to be taken, as a result or will a higher number of narrow-bodies have to be taken (due to the size/specification differences between the A350 and the narrow-body Airbus aircraft)?
Also - since additional slots in BOM seem to have been obtained for UL to increase its daily CMB-BOM-CMB frequency, does that mean that AMD is no longer going to be served by UL? The indications are that more services to India are on the cards, and so, I assume that more Indian destinations are still being keenly looked at.Comment
