There are 3 white-tail A350 sitting in Toulouse (the 4th was never built). This is a huge embarrassment for airbus. I doubt UL can expect any favours from airbus.

If the remaining 4 A350 were ordered on a contract without a termination clause - then there's no option but to pay! ($800 Million according to the papers plus whatever deposits have been paid).

Aercap is also having to pay for the parked A350 - a declining asset value with no revenue so far. They will also not be doing UL any favours.

Any talk of "re-structuring" or PPP is nothing more than a fantasy by people who cannot conceive of a shut down.

Cancellation of the four-Airbus-A350-900 leases and the downfall of SriLankan

The cancellation of the four Airbus A350-900 leases, executed under the current management led by the pilot CEO, was one of the most controversial decisions ever taken in the history of the airline. ..

This is the same guy who was having spitting competition with current CEO in DM. He assumes that profit can be made on A350s...if loses are made on FRA on lower lease cost of A332s I am not sure how you can make profit on A350s (where leases signed by previous management is far higher than market value)

He also assume that Oil prices are low...Today it is 3 year high...WTI trading at $63 and Brent trading at $69.

Problem with UL is the number 7000 and accumulated loses.

opinion is not more than politically motivated write up.

                Don't forget:-

The impossiblity to make money operationally due to the high leasing costs.

Forward liabilities of at least $2 Billion (losses over the remaining terms of the leases + 4 A350 that still need to be paid for).

Not sure why this "re-structuring" keeps coming up - they've already tried to change the terms of the leases and cancel the 4 remaining A350. I imagine those were very short meetings!

Those remaining A350s due to come in 2020 are cancelled or are to be cancelled or will UL take them?

Sri Lanka's national air carrier SriLankan Airlines is going to increase the frequency of flights to South Indian City Hyderabad with Daily Service, from 25th March 2018.

Hyderabad is the capital of Telangana in Southern India, located on the banks of the Musi River and on the Deccan Plateau. Hyderabad and Secunderabad are "twin cities" near Hussain Sagar Lake.

However, SriLankan Airlines is doing a reduction in the frequency of flights to other destinations. Kunming is going to be terminated, Flights to Gan and Seychelles are going to be reduced from four flights a week to three flights a week from early March 2018.

In Summer 2018, SriLankan continuing to operate Single Daily flights to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dhaka, Guangzhou, Jakarta, Jeddah, Karachi, Kuwait, London, Madurai, Melbourne, Muscat, Riyadh, and Trivandrum. Chennai is handling most of the SriLankan Airlines flights after SriLankan's hub Colombo as SriLankan is operating five daily flights to Chennai. SriLankan Airlines is flying 27 flights to Male', Three Daily flights to both Bankok and Singapore, Double Daily flights to Bengaluru, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, and Trichy. SriLankan Airlines is flying Kochi with 13 flights per week, Doha & Dubai with 11 flights per week, Hong Kong with five flights per week, Beijing, Coimbatore, Dammam, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Visakhapatnam with four flights per week, Kolkata, and Lahore with three flights per week.

As of Jan 2018, SriLankan Airlines is operating aircraft fleet consists of two A320neo's, six A320ceo's, three A321ceo's, three A321neo's, six of A330-243s and seven A330-343s. The airline is due to take another A321neo in next couple of months.

The press keeps getting this wrong:-

1 order for 4 A350 via Aercap. Order cancelled and 3 out of 4 built. These aircraft are parked in Toulouse.

1 order for 4 A350 directly from airbus. This is still pending (U$ 800 million still to be paid). Unclear how much has already been paid.

Attempts have been made to cancel/change this order - no results. The only thing that makes sense is that this order once again has no termination clause.

What is needed are arrests - not another Commission!

There have to be signed documents at the UL office with names on them - good place to start!
