There's no "mystery" about any of this.

The aircraft is owned by Aercap. SriLankan was forced to lease it as part of the penalty for the cancellation of the Aercap A350 order.

The aircraft was sub leased to Hifly by SriLankan.

The sub lease ended and the aircraft has been returned to SriLankan.

    What's so difficult to understand?
Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find this business

I would take these daily mirror gossip section articles with a grain of salt, whoever writes them indulges in creative journalism to fill the column.

In the past, Monarch Airlines served Manchester - Colombo flights.

                  CMB-MEL flights reduced?

It seems that CMB-MEL flight is not in air today. It seems like they are running 6 times per week as per Flightradar24?

As per flight schedules on AASL website for Oct 2018, UL604/5 on 22nd and 26th October have been cancelled. Not sure why but, it appears to be planned scheduling.

AirAsia launches direct flight from Bangkok to Colombo

AirAsia will begin direct flights from Bangkok to Colombo in mid-December to serve people seeking religious and cultural experiences in the South Asian country.

The four-time weekly services are on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from Don Mueang airport, starting Dec 14.

The budget carrier has already operated flights to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo for almost 10 years from Kuala Lumpur.

Fares start from 1,990 baht one-way for AirAsia BIG members and 2,030 baht for non-members for booking during the introductory period -- from today to Nov 4 for travel from Dec 14 this year to March 29 next year.

AirAsia will begin direct flights from Bangkok to Colombo in mid-December to serve people seeking religious and cultural experiences in the South Asian country.

How to get a graduate level role at SriLankan

                            Hi guys,

I'm a recent graduate with a degree in engineering from a UK university.

I'm keen to work at SriLankan Airlines in a commercial/analyst role. Was wondering where to submit an application.

Their careers website only shows a vacancy for Chief Commercial Officer, and when I tried applying speculatively to careers@srilankan.com, the message returned saying their mailbox was full!

Any advice would be appreciated - thanks!

Today's UL504 from London has been diverted to KWI. Not sure what the reason is.
