4R-ALJ leaves the fleet as she flies to Singapore as UL 308 today. As per the schedule, she will continue to Dusseldorf (DUS) as UL 1205 on Thursday. Why the ferry flight is making a stop at SIN instead of a direct CMB-DUS flight is unknown. Please share any further information.

India has suspended the direct flights to the UK due to new virus strain.

What about direct flights between Sri Lanka and the UK?

Sri Lanka has decided to ban all flights from the United Kingdom into the island in a bid to prevent the new variant of Covid-19 spreading across South England.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said the move will be in effect from 2.00 am tomorrow (23) until further notice.

                    Thanks Shockwave for the update

Will it affect the MLE-LHR operated by UL?

Any affect for UL flights for other European flights such as CMB-FRA (pax) and CMB-CDG and MXP (Cargo)?

                      My pleasure.
MaldIves haven’t stated anything about banning flights yet but if it happens UL might pull back the service.
I think freighter service to EU will continue but for pax there will be changes. Only time will tell.

I’m more concerned about the BIA’s reopening, will they postpone the opening date?

UL503 is operating today also. I can see that it is on its way to LHR at the moment. If Sri Lanka has banned all flights from UK then why the flag carrier still operating the route!!

Yeah UL503 (4R-ALM) is flying to London. I think it is carrying freight.
Everywhere in the media is stated as “ flights banned from UK”, it’s unclear whether all flights are banned or just pax flights.
                          Can anyone clarify this. Thanks

Does anyone have more information on the incident involving 4R-AND on Dec 2nd? Aviation Herald is reporting it as a serious incident with multiple system failures.
