Arkia April 2024 Colombo Service Changes

    March 6, 2024 Jim Liu
    Published at 0500GMT 06MAR24

Arkia – Israeli Airlines during the month of April 2024 is adjusting service to Sri Lanka. From 03APR24 to 30APR24, the carrier will operate Tel Aviv – Dire Dawa – Colombo routing, instead of Tel Aviv – Mahe Island (Seychelles) – Colombo. Airbus A321neo LR aircraft operates this routing twice weekly (1 weekly for the week of 31MAR24).

For the moment the airline does not list operational schedule on Tel Aviv – Dire Dawa sector.

Last time arkia came to CMB the route it took tracked over the horn of Africa as far as i can remember. Could be because of the restrictions from the Arab countries with regard to the on going conflict. So maybe its a technical stop at Dire Dawa?

Indigo Airlines, a budget airline from India is tipped to operate direct flights between Chennai and Jaffna later this year.

The Sri Lankan Airport Aviation Authority told the Daily News that Palaly airport is being upgraded and the runway is to be extended while other facilities will be given a facelift too. The Palali International Airport in Jaffna is already receiving direct flights from Air India and this would be the second international airline to operate in the homeland.
