Piped connection to the refinery isn't the same as piped delivery at the tarmac ...

You dont' send a bowser, you send a delivery vehicle that hooks up the underground delivery pipe to the plane, and pump it out ... than sending large bowsers, which are often the cause of runway / tarmac crashes, and often than ever need wing walkers to ensure the is seperation vs delivery vehicles which are small and easy to traverse ..

BIA
It is by rail - tank car(I am not sure sure if they are still doing them)...to Jet A1 tank farms at BIA then piped delivery (This was built with in last 10 years by the Chinese) at the tarmac

At HRI
By road to airport and at the tarmac again utilizing bowsers/road tankers

I think he is referring to the operating cost related to the additional stop over.

For instance, a flight that operated CMB-MLE-CMB now operates CMB-HRI-MLE-CMB. The additional cost covers the extra leg and the cycle.

Will definitely know if it increase by 10% by March 2014; when the next UL annual report is due. UL cost estimates have been quite wonky

I too wasn't sure about 10% because it looks too low, given the additional cycle they have to put on the frame. Then again, I thought they must have run the numbers before running their mouths

Sri Lankan pilot crisis results in huge losses

The simmering crisis within Sri Lankan Airlines surrounding the lowering of cut off marks to accommodate two extra cadet pilots has resulted in losses running ‘into millions’ of rupees for the country’s national carrier and continued disruption of flights.

Regular flights have been disrupted and delayed during the past three weeks as a result of pilots and instructors of the airline deciding to ‘work to the roster’.

Sri Lankan Airlines are currently understaffed for pilots and Instructors and therefore each pilot is requested to take up flights which they were not initially scheduled to take up.

Certain long distance flights have been delayed for long hours and flights have been grounded as a result causing heavy losses.
