Thanks all for the likes and comments on my photos ! I tried to get permission from UL for the visit inside the hangar but UL didn't reply to my email..TK maintenance didn't provide information as i don't have permission from UL!
Farhan Hussain Haleef - That flag next to VP-CRP rego looks like it is Uzbekistan flag. My guess VP-CRP might go to Centrum Air. May be I am wrong ! We have to wait and see.
I also came here at ISL to see if ex-Virgin A333 MSN 1261 as there were rumour earlier year UL was looking to get Virgin A333s. I saw another A333 next to VP-CRP and that is in all white and rego if i red it correctly 5N-ONO with Afriqiyah Airways title.
Hi Team,
I have posted the Istanbul Trip Videos in our Trip Report + Trip Advise Thread and Istanbul Plane Spotting Videos in Plane Spotting Thread. Please check and share your comment.

Thank you,
Typo at my end! MSN of Virgin A333 I meant that was MSN 1215 which flew back to LHR from ISL on the 26-Nov-2025.
Parked Afriqiyah Airways A333 at ISL have registration 5A-ONQ (MSN 1499). May be its here for maintenance at ISL.
I heard from reliable sources, UL is waiting for RFP process for 2 aircraft. Does anyone have more info on this?👍 1Comment

EASA has issued an EAD for airbus A320 family aircraft:
EASA has issued an Emergency Airworthiness Directive (EAD) for the Airbus A320 family to address a susceptibility introduced by a software update in one of its onboard computers. The EAD addresses an issue which manifested itself in an event on JetBlue flight 1230 on October 30, 2025. These measures may cause short-term disruption to flight schedules and therefore inconvenience to passengers. However as is always the case in aviation, safety is paramount. How does this affect UL and 8D's fleets? will they be AOG for a while now?spotting Y-12s and helicopters from my home..Comment

SriLankan Airlines says none of its Airbus fleet affected by software issue
SriLankan Airlines - which flies 9 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family (including A32-200 and A320neo) – yesterday said none of their planes were affected by a software issue that Airbus warns might cause intense solar radiation to corrupt data critical to the functioning of flight controls in the A320 family of aircraft.
“None of our aircraft are affected,” said Deepal Perera, the airline’s Manager of Corporate Communications, adding he obtained the information from SriLankan Engineering. He was unable to immediately provide further details, such as whether the France-based Airbus had been in touch with SriLankan over the software issue which has led to canceled and delayed flights around the world.
It was therefore unclear how SriLankan knew that it was “not affected”, and whether this meant none of its A320 planes would need the software update.
In a statement released on Friday, Airbus said it had identified “a significant number of A320 Family aircraft currently in-service which may be impacted”. It said “analysis of a recent event involving an A320 family aircraft has revealed that intense solar radiation may corrupt data critical to the functioning of flight controls”.
“Airbus has worked proactively with the aviation authorities to request immediate precautionary action from operators via an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT) in order to implement the available software and/or hardware protection, and ensure the fleet is safe to fly,” it continued. “This AOT will be reflected in an Emergency Airworthiness Directive from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).”
“Airbus acknowledges these recommendations will lead to operational disruptions to passengers and customers,” it concluded. “We apologise for the inconvenience caused and will work closely with operators, while keeping safety as our number one and overriding priority.”
News reports said that the relevant computer code may have contributed to a sudden drop in the altitude of a JetBlue plane last month.
Airbus’s A320 fleet numbers about 6,000 aircraft worldwide.
SriLankan Airlines cancelled and delayed a large number of flights since Friday but said it was owing to the effects of inclement weather and Cyclone Ditwah which prevented its staff from arriving at work.

Hi, As I got info from credible source, there is a modification for the Software, which is not mandatory to implement and which UL did not apply on their A320 fleet (Subjected to update as instructed), So UL A320s will not be grounded.SriLankan Airlines says none of its Airbus fleet affected by software issue

Is SriLankan cancelled the plan of increasing CMB-BKK from 14 weekly to 18 weekly effect Dec25 ? Can't see the new 4 weekly flight UL 406/7 on the booking anymore. SriLankan's CMB-BKK flight remains the same as 14 weekly.Comment
