I don’t think they will be able to do that with the resources they have.I wonder how long the Middle East Tensions going to continue. This is a worrying situation for Aviation Industry. I wonder how Summer Flight Schedule is going to be like after airlines cancelling flights to Middle East. If the Middle East tension continue to happen, Do you think UL will expand more flights to South Asia, Australia, Far East, Orient, Europe and Africa in the Summer 2026?
I believe UL & 8D should take advantage of the grounded flights by EK, QR & EY. Sri Lanka have big market to focus in India and China.Comment

Hi Banu, Yes, UL will be operating UL503 and UL505 as per the schedule, the additonal flight is to help with stranded PAX at LHR. The flight number is UL1206, and tomorrow LOT will be deploying another 787-9 from WAW to pick up more stranded passengers in Sri Lanka and the Maldives (LO7235), while Etihad Airways will be deploying their 77W aircraft on EY390 to accomodate passengers whos flight has been cancelled as a result of the war until March 10th. And also, FlyDubai will be operating two additional flights from DXB to CMB (FZ8571), deploying 7M8.
Noticed that Thai Airways has reduced daily flights from BKK to 5 weekly (Skipping Mondays and Saturdays), starting March 9th.
Thanks.Last edited by WizzWaveSien; Yesterday, 09:12 AM.Sien (KR/SL/US)

yes that’s correct, they used UL1205 for ALT as well as far as I remember. Not really sure what are they using the same number for repatriation flights.
And yes , I’ve seen a post that UL will fly to Rome on the 9th march.

Is there a decline in pax traffic in BKK-CMB sector?

Agree, according to UAE Market intelligence, Customers trust 8D over all other carriers including EK and UL, which is a great opportunity to expand and catch the own market share which UL has also.I wonder how long the Middle East Tensions going to continue. Still the issue is coming from resources : Aircrafts, UL is struggling with fleet shortage to launch new routes or increase frequencies.Last edited by MAW2000; Today, 05:28 PM.Comment

The Main reason for Sudden CMB KUL demand is student movements which will exist only for a shorter period.

Its all about passenger market, not cargo but eventually cargo demand will be there but not a considerable amount to operate a widebody jet.
