    It was 4R-ALH.

If I am not mistaken, is 4R-ALL was in the CMB B747 hangar for landing gear replacement? Regarding 4R-ALH, it had to return to Colombo shortly after departure on June 12, 2026, after a lightning strike affected one of its engines. Is 4R-ALH parked currently in the CMB-B747 hangar for maintenance?

Just a quick update to let you know that 4R-ANB has been back in service since 14-Jun.

Update from the B747 hangar today. 18/06/2026

4R-ALL is currently in the hangar for C checks and 12 year lease checks. ALL will be fully repainted like brand new. The whole cabin and cargo section has been parted out and stripped off. Old paint is being stripped down, already the aft section paint has been removed. ALL will take a while I suppose.

4R-ALH is inside for C-checks and also for the repair after the lightning strike. Already a replacement engine cowling part has been fitted. No major damage to the engine components as I heard.

4R-ANC also inside for some checks and main landing gear replacement.

4R-ANE is outside the 747 hangar with engine covers.

That is a massive workload for the team! Stripping 4R-ALL down to the bare airframe is a huge job, but it will look incredible once the fresh paint is applied.

This likely indicates that the leases for the A333s have been extended, which is a sensible move.

I am glad to hear the lightning strike on 4R-ALH was not as severe as it could have been.

Does anyone know what the turnaround projection is for the full overhaul on ALL? Its last recorded activity was back on 23 April 2026.

SriLankan Airlines returns to Lufthansa Systems for flight planning tech

SriLankan Airlines has implemented Lufthansa Systems’ Lido Flight 4D solution as part of efforts to optimise flight planning, improve fuel efficiency and strengthen operational performance across its network.

The airline said the flight planning platform uses route, weather, airspace and aircraft performance data to support dispatchers in making data-driven operational decisions.

Having previously moved to another flight planning provider, the airline has decided to return to the Lido Flight 4D planning platform.

good to hear that there's no major damage to ALH.
also, apparently ANE is still where it was when I last visited CMB 1-2 years ago.
                          also, where is AND?

AND is inside the 320 hangar being repainted if I remember seeing correctly a few weeks ago.
