      Thank's for the clarification!
Was down Marine Drive to video today's fly-past and most of those present were screaming "MiG! MiG" when the F7's were going by

SLAF introduced the C2 into the fleet in 1996, so around 22 years in service with SLAF. But they were built in the 1970s as you said.

When the question is how old aircrafts are; answer should be more align with when it is built not when it is acquired...these ariframes are very old. Even the design is from 60's Mirage III/IVs and the engines are from F4s

Well, the question misleaded me. So sorry for that.

Actually, the F-7 is a license-built version of the MIG-21 and is manufactured in China. Thus it's the Chinese version of the Soviet MIG-21.

Hi. Is the air force's other C-130 permanently grounded or are they planning on putting it back into service? All I had heard was it was being used as spare parts for the other one.

It was being used as parts for the other one, but now it's being repaired back into service. It's currently undergoing a full service and schedule, and will also have a newly painted look. Registration was be SCH-881 hopefully. It's being repaired as the SLAF Hangar at Katunayake. It will fly back soon!

Thanks for the info! Do you know any dates it will be back? Like around when? Also wasn't the SLAF planning on purchasing new C-130. I think i read about it in a news article about 2 years ago
