    Thanks Highflyer, Good pictures of HRI. It appears to be the pictures you posted were taken few weeks ago. I think airport's middle garden area has now been fully completed.

    @mrpanini - Do you know if the airbridges at HRI are now ready for use ?

                            Land under the Board of Investment is to be acquired for the expansion of the CMB...Minister of Civil Aviation said that cabinet approval has been obtained for this purpose....He said that the land will be acquired as part of the second phase of the expansion project of the airport....The second phase of the expansion project is being carried out with Japanese assistance and is expected to be completed by 2015....Minister Jayaratne said that a garment factory which had been built on BOI land and had since been shut down will be demolished for the expansion project....He said that a train station will also be constructed at the BIA soon....He also insisted that the BIA will not be closed at any point despite the construction of the Mattala international airport.

                                Honestly not sure but when I did a search for Colombo, it came up with Beira Lake SPB. So it could be maybe where the waterplanes land?

                                    The runway is wide enough for an A380 TO backtrack (make a 180 degree turn at the end of the runway before takeoff and after landing)
